Patrick Mahomes’ Dad Trolls Bills Fans After Chiefs’ AFC Championship Victory

The rivalry between the Mahomes family and Buffalo Bills fans has flared up again, with Patrick Mahomes Sr. adding fuel to the fire after his son, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, led his team to victory in the AFC Championship.
Mahomes Sr., 54, took to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, January 27, to celebrate the Chiefs’ thrilling 32-29 win over the Bills the previous day. “Today is a great day to not be from Buffalo…,” he wrote, taking a jab at the Bills’ famously passionate fanbase, known as Bills Mafia.
The post sparked a wave of backlash from Bills fans, many of whom were quick to bring up Mahomes Sr.’s past legal troubles. In October 2024, Mahomes Sr. served a 10-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to a February 2024 DWI arrest. It was not his first offense; in 2018, he pleaded guilty to another DWI charge and served 40 days in jail.
Despite the online drama, Mahomes Sr. was all smiles on Sunday, attending the game at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on his son. After the Chiefs secured their spot in the Super Bowl, he joined Patrick on the field for a family celebration alongside his ex-wife, Randi Mahomes, younger son Jackson Mahomes, and daughter-in-law Brittany Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes, 28, has often credited his father for instilling in him the competitive drive and mental toughness that have made him one of the NFL’s brightest stars. Mahomes Sr., a former Major League Baseball pitcher, had a 12-year career playing for teams like the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets. Growing up, Patrick often accompanied his dad to games and practices, learning the importance of discipline and resilience.
The bond between father and son remains strong, with Mahomes Sr. frequently attending games and celebrating his son’s achievements. While his social media antics sometimes draw criticism, Mahomes Sr.’s unwavering support for his son is undeniable, even if it occasionally ruffles the feathers of rival fanbases.
As the Chiefs gear up for the Super Bowl, the Mahomes family is sure to remain in the spotlight—on and off the field.
