Beyoncé’s Netflix Halftime Performance Outshines NFL Christmas Games with 27 Million Viewers

Beyoncé proved her star power yet again, delivering a halftime performance that drew a staggering 27 million viewers on Netflix during the NFL Christmas Gameday — more than either of the day’s two football games.

According to Deadline, Beyoncé’s electrifying set outperformed both the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers game, which garnered 24.1 million viewers, and the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game, which drew 24.3 million. Nielsen’s live-plus-same-day data confirmed that Beyoncé’s halftime show peaked Netflix’s Christmas Day viewership, cementing her status as an unrivaled entertainer.

The performance, hailed as a “Beyoncé Bowl” by fans online, featured guest appearances from Post Malone, Shaboozey, and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 12. Beyoncé made a grand entrance on horseback, riding past a lineup of vintage cars while donning a white oversized fur coat, a matching cowboy hat, and a dazzling diamond choker. The setlist included songs from her critically acclaimed country-inspired album, Texas Hold ‘Em, which debuted earlier this year.

Beyoncé’s pivot to country music with Texas Hold ‘Em marked a bold and innovative move for the global superstar. The album, released in February 2024, was a celebration of her Texan roots, blending traditional country sounds with modern production. Collaborations with country icons like Chris Stapleton and Kacey Musgraves, as well as nods to Southern culture, earned the album widespread praise and a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album.

The halftime performance brought Texas Hold ‘Em to life, with cinematic staging and intricate choreography that celebrated themes of Americana and Southern heritage. The Queen Bey’s ability to effortlessly cross genres and command an audience continues to set her apart as one of the greatest performers of her time.

While the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Pittsburgh Steelers (29-10) and the Baltimore Ravens dominated the Houston Texans (31-2), it was Beyoncé’s halftime show that dominated the conversation, proving that even on a day dedicated to football, she remains the true MVP.
