Sister Wives' Robyn Brown Opens Up About Struggles in Monogamous Marriage With Kody Brown

Robyn Brown is navigating unfamiliar territory as she adjusts to her new reality with husband Kody Brown in a monogamous marriage. The shift comes after the dissolution of Kody’s plural marriages with former wives Janelle, Christine, and Meri Brown, leaving Robyn as his only remaining spouse.
The emotional challenges of this transition took center stage in the January 5 episode of Sister Wives Season 19, as Robyn shared her heartbreak over the unraveling of their plural family.
“I feel really powerless, and I feel it's just more of my dream slipping away,” Robyn admitted in a confessional. “It’s more of what I hoped for slipping away. I just don't know how to let it go.”
Despite Robyn expressing her wish for Kody to repair his relationship with Janelle, Kody made it clear that reconciliation is no longer an option.
“I've thought about this for a whole year or two with Janelle. We’re not in love,” Kody said. “Me and Janelle just don’t want to be around each other. She wants to do things different than what I want to do. We're just not matching up.”
While Kody appears resigned to the monogamous lifestyle, Robyn continues to mourn the loss of their once large and interconnected family. “I just still think that they could work it out,” she confessed, holding onto the possibility of repairing their plural dynamic.
Kody, however, posed a direct question to Robyn, asking, “Will you accept me as a monogamist? Is there a problem with that?” Robyn’s emotional response reflected the deep conflict she feels about their new relationship structure.
Kody and Robyn’s journey began in 2010 when she joined his plural family as his fourth wife. Unlike Kody’s relationships with Janelle, Christine, and Meri—which spanned decades—his courtship with Robyn was marked by a modern and more openly romantic approach, stirring both admiration and tension within the family.
